DHM LOCKSMITHS
Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains how Harmer-Manning Services, operating DHM Locksmiths, uses personal information when you visit this website, contact the business, book an appointment or become a customer.
Who is responsible for your information?
Harmer-Manning Services / DHM Locksmiths is responsible for personal information used for the purposes described in this policy.
You can contact DHM Locksmiths by telephone on 07356 297178 or by using the protected email option on the contact section of the website.
Information I may collect
Depending on how you contact or use the service, this may include:
- your name, telephone number and email address;
- your address or location where locksmith work is required;
- messages and information you provide about the lock, door or security issue;
- photos you send to help identify or diagnose a lock or door problem;
- appointment details when you use the Google Calendar booking page;
- job, quotation, invoice and payment-related information where work is carried out;
- review information where a genuine customer review is published on the website; and
- limited technical and security information, such as IP address or browser information, processed to protect the website from automated abuse.
How I use your information
I use personal information only where it is needed to run the locksmith service, including to:
- respond to enquiries and assess what work may be required;
- arrange, manage and carry out locksmith appointments;
- prepare quotations, invoices and business records;
- communicate with you about a job or booking;
- publish genuine customer feedback where appropriate;
- maintain the security, availability and proper operation of the website; and
- meet legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations.
Lawful bases
The lawful basis depends on why the information is being used. Enquiries, bookings and locksmith work are generally processed because the information is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract or to perform a contract with you. Information may also be retained where necessary to comply with legal obligations.
Website security, fraud and spam prevention, service administration and similar low-impact operational uses may be based on legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business and website. Where consent is the appropriate basis, for example for a particular optional use of your information, you can withdraw that consent.
Website hosting and security
The website is hosted using Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. The protected email option uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help distinguish genuine visitors from automated traffic. Turnstile is used for security and does not receive the contents of your locksmith enquiry through this website.
This website does not currently use advertising or behavioural analytics cookies. Security technologies that are strictly necessary to operate and protect the site may still be used.
Google Calendar booking
The Book appointment button opens a Google Calendar appointment booking page. If you choose to make a booking, the information you enter is provided to Google and is used to create and manage the appointment. Google's own privacy terms also apply when you use that service.
Who information may be shared with
Personal information is not sold. It may be shared only where necessary with service providers used to operate the business, such as Cloudflare for website hosting and security, Google for appointment booking, and relevant email, telephone, bookkeeping or payment providers where needed to deal with an enquiry or job. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.
International processing
Some technology providers used by the website or business may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, the provider's applicable data protection and international transfer safeguards apply.
How long information is kept
Information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Enquiries that do not lead to work will normally be deleted when they are no longer useful for dealing with the enquiry. Job, invoice, payment and tax records may be kept for longer where required for business, accounting or legal purposes. Reviews may remain published until they are removed or are no longer appropriate to retain.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, portability of information, or to object to certain uses. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent.
To exercise a right, contact DHM Locksmiths using the contact details above. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the website, services or the way personal information is used changes. The latest version will always be published on this page.
